Description
A collection of treatises by Swedenborg, some published by himself, some left in unpublished drafts, on diverse subjects from geology and mineralogy to cosmology and anatomy. The papers in this collection show Swedenborg’s versatility and the ease with which he can switch scientific disciplines. These works also show Swedenborg’s development from an enthusiastic young scientist writing about local issues such as the different kinds of soil found in the surrounding regions of his home in Sweden, to an ambitious philosopher working on universal theories for his Principia and Economy of the Animal Kingdom. This edition contains a Preface to the Second Edition.
